Five short plays inspired by San José community members, their experiences with COVID, and the issues we're facing together
The Neighborhood Theatre Project is a completely original theatrical experience that explores experiences we have felt as a community over the past two years. Created with the help from youth, parents, teachers, elders--everyone who makes up our neighborhoods--we are proud to bring these performances to life.
After hosting workshops, focus groups, and community interviews, our local writers have written five unique plays inspired by San José residents and their pandemic experiences.
Join us for the premiere weekend--July 29th, 30th, and 31st--at the Mexican Heritage Plaza in East San José . We will also be hosting previews on July 27th and 28th, where the show is open to the public ahead of the premiere. The previews help us continue to improve the production before it officially opens.
After July, we will be touring the Neighborhood Theatre Project and performing in community spaces like street markets, museums, and gardens! Stay tuned for more details on the tour.
