What would you do to stay in the only country you've ever called home? What would you do to prosper in it? Would you risk it to help a friend achieve the same thing?
Two young people—born of undocumented parents in a post-9/11 U.S.—struggle to navigate complexities of immigration, identity, belonging, and love. Their friendship evolves over years of late-night conversations, along with their distinct circumstances. They will each need to decide what is best for themselves, and decide how far they are willing to go to help the other.
Sanctuary City is a strikingly intimate play written by Pulitzer Prize-winner Martyna Majok, and directed by Anthony Doan. Produced by More Más Marami Arts, fiscally sponsored by School of Arts and Culture at MHP (SOAC).
