SJ Sounds is a series of five sound and written word installations, each focused on interconnected themes/issues within San Jose and the South Bay. These themes and issues will be developed between the sound designers and writers, who will then create a soundscape and short story. Audience members will be able to listen to the soundscapes and read a companion piece at a series of installations around San Jose.
More Más Marami Arts is partnering with Soundplay Media and other community organizations to create calls to action based around each soundscape and story. This project is funded by the Abierto Program, courtesy of the City of San Jose and our fiscal sponsors The School of Arts and Culture.
Join us Friday March 4th to experience two soundscapes designed by Josh Nicolas that will immerse you in a world enveloped in the theme of HOUSING. Read the companion stories by Enrique Muñoz and Lauren Doyle to further dive into the present reality and the future possibilities of the housing crisis that the Bay Area is currently facing.
Join us during Downtown San José ’s First Friday, March 4th, from 6:00PM to 9:00PM to see Josh, Enrique, and Lauren’s work.
